What is Snagging?

Snagging is an industry term for ‘faults’ ‘blemishes’ and other defects in a new home.

Snags are never intentional, they are mainly decorative or superficial, but they should not be there and your builder should rectify them for you, within a reasonable timescale.

Builders carry out very thorough inspections throughout the build of your new home, and there are various key inspections carried out by independent warranty providers (NHBC and Premier for example).

But there are times when items are simply missed, or occur after these inspections are done.

By instructing your own independent snagging inspection you can be assured that a further thorough check will capture all of these.

End of Your Two Year Warranty

Many builders offer an end of two year warranty check - however it is very rare that they actually follow up on this offer.

We suggest that prior to the expiry of the 2 year warranty we recommend having a full end of warranty inspection carried out.
